Server hosting has been removed as we're using a third-party connection provider due to many server issues. This is no longer necessary.
Want to host your own server? You can. Available platforms are Windows, Mac, and Linux. NOTE: I do not know if the Mac and Linux versions are working correctly. If it is, please let me know.
How do I host to a server?
Download the server to your platform.
Before opening the server, you'll need to port forward your router with the port '22761'. You can look up a tutorial on how to do it. If you don't want to port forward, you can use ngrok or something similar.
Open the server. You may see your browser open a link. This is due that the server needs to be authenticated to run. Login to your BBTUD Community account, and enter the session ID shown to the server console/terminal.
If successfully authenticated, you will be given the option to put the server IP and Port to host on. (They are not where the players can connect to) It's suggested to leave them blank. The default is 0.0.0.0:22761.
Once the host IP and Port have been set, you will need to put client connection hostname/IP and Port (where the players can connect). You can use your Port-Forwarded IP or the ngrok console's connection IP and Port.
Once you put the client connection details, the server will verify the connection of the details you typed.
When succeeded, you'll need to choose whether you want your server to be public or private. NOTE: If you set the client connection hostname/IP to an IP, your server will be private due to privacy reasons. Type 1 in the console if you want your server to be public. Type 0 in the console if you want your server to be private. The default option is public.
The server should start. You can now give the client IP and Port provided by the console to the other players. Or, if your server is public, you can wait for a person to join the server by the server list.
